My ocean
My Ocean

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve loved the beach. Something inside me is connected to the ocean and its beach.
I feel this because in my soul there is a bestirring inside of me, like the waves rushing in and pounding on the sand. As the waves retreat from the sand, I find many treasures from the sea. This takes me to a place of wonder, bestirring inside myself. Moreover is the feeling of my feet sinking into the beach sand. I wonder how far the sand has traveled to meet my feet. My mother would tell me when I was little that I reacted to the tides. I wasn’t sure what she meant by that.
On my last trip to the ocean, I stood on a large piece of driftwood, one that I had stood on when I was little. As I looked towards the ocean, I think I finally understood the connection between the tide and myself: the rushing, the pulling, and the wonder of the ocean
